LAND 400 Phase 2

LAND 400 Phase 2 involves the acquisition of 211 combat reconnaissance vehicles and 12 additional modules. The Australian Government announced Rheinmetall Defence Australia as the preferred tenderer in March 2018 with the Boxer combat reconnaissance vehicle (CRV). The total program cost is $5.2 billion.

Under a long-term partnership with the Queensland Government, Rheinmetall Defence Australia has established its Australia-New Zealand Headquarters and Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Ipswich. From the MILVEHCOE, Rheinmetall will deliver the Boxer CRVs under the Phase 2 project, support the logistics trucks delivered under the LAND 121 project, and manage its other defence projects.
