Far North Queensland Infrastructure Plan

Far North Queensland is a great place to live, work and visit with approximately 264,555 people calling the region home. The region includes eight local government areas, covering approximately 113,149 square kilometres.

The Queensland Government released for consultation the draft of the Far North Queensland Regional Plan 2025, which includes the draft Far North Queensland Infrastructure Plan as an Appendix. This means the infrastructure component will now have statutory weight ensuring greater integration between land use and infrastructure policies and priorities that maximise future opportunities for the region.
